I study Japanese but I use incorrect terms often...

You would usually just say:

"Kumusta?"

"Kumusta!" means something like "How are you?"

Feel free to use it with your friends!

For older people, you say:

"Kumusta po kayo?"

This makes it more formal.

Let's say someone came up to you and said "Kumusta?"

What should you reply with?
